Now Hiring Teen Artist Apprentices!

Become an Artist Apprentice!

Hired to Create. Inspired to Succeed.

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for our Spring 2025 ArtWorks program!

ArtWorks is a multi-disciplinary, arts-based job training program for teens, ages 14-18, residing in or around Buffalo. For the Spring Session, a cohort of hired apprentices will engage in both arts activities and projects led by a Teaching Artist, with professional development days to learn workforce and college readiness skills. The Fall Session will consist of hands-on and collaborative work, guest speakers, and off site field trips to various Buffalo-based arts and cultural institutions or post-secondary institutions. It will culminate with a showcase wherein students create, exhibit and perform original works of art for friends and family.

Throughout the ArtWorks program, apprentices will not only be paid to create, but throughout the program students will:

  • Create art

  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines

  • Discover hidden strengths

  • Learn job readiness skills

  • Participate in career exploration workshops

  • Participate in college readiness workshops

  • Learn from professionals in the community

  • Perform and/or exhibit works of art

  • Learn decision-making skills

  • Practice public speaking

  • Learn about financial wellness

  • Build friendships with students from different schools

  • Participate in performance reviews and feedback sessions

  • Learn why the arts are important to a community’s identity and success

  • Gain employment

The ArtWorks program Fall session will take place:

February 24, 2025 - May 21, 2025

The only exception will be the week of Spring break

Applications are due by Monday, January 27th at 5pm.
